We are pleased to announce that GB Hockey Inline Ltd is now a registered Company with Limited Liability by Guarantee with effect from 20th October 2010 At present there are three Directors, Patrick Bailey, Yves-Marc Edward and Geoff Mann and further appointments will be made over the coming months.
Over the next few months the business procedures of the new company will be set up, e.g. new bank account, trading and financial procedures, etc. and you will be kept informed of what is happening by notices published on our website.
We are proposing to hold a Members Meeting shortly at which outline plans for how the Company intends to proceed in the future will be given. These will include Digital Registration availability with a League Management system giving Fixtures, results and stats, the setting up of Playing Members Committee, including Officials, to advise the Board on Rule changes etc.
It is the Board’s intention to hold the new Company’s first AGM next year. At this, Members will be able to question, propose and vote on matters affecting GBHI in accordance with Articles of Association.
You may not see much change in how things are done especially as the Regions’ structures remain unchanged and during the period of transition from Association to Ltd Company, the Constitution of the Association will remain in force whilst the new procedures/policies outlined are introduced except if there should be conflicts between it and the Articles of Association, when the Articles will prevail.
Your Board of Directors are committed to ensuring that GBHI move into the 21st Century with its technological benefits so that all Members can see that our operations, whether on the Rink or in the office are carried out to the same standards by and for everyone so that all who “just want to play Hockey” can flourish positively at each age group and all standards of ability.
